We See Ron Rifkin, Who Wuz Robbed
After His Supporting Turn in Boiler Room

by Ron Hogan

From Variety: "Noir novelist James Ellroy will write The Man Who Kept Secrets, a biopic of Hollywood lawyer Sidney Korshak for producers Robert Evans and Brian Grazer. William Friedkin is on board to direct the Paramount film."

This is a double whammy for Mad Dog, as it's also been announced that Scarlet Johannson is slated to star in the film adaptation of The Black Dahlia with Josh Hartnett and Mark Wahlberg...though not as famed murder victim Elizabeth Short.

Korshak is an icon of the dark side of Hollywood, widely reputed to be a frontman for the mob's dealing with legit operations like MCA/Universal, as well as throughout the corporate world. See Dan Moldea's Dark Victory for some background, and also Connie Bruck's When Hollywood Had a King. A reporter for Chicago's PBS station who happens to be married to a Korshak also has some family stories.
