NYT Discovers Graphic Novels;
Indie Rock Soon to Appear on Radar

by Ron Hogan

Ed actually sums up most of my reaction to the Times Sunday magazine piece on that hip new trend of comics for grown-ups, which is pretty useful if you haven't ventured off Main Street in 15 years. The bit that made me laugh the hardest?

[Alan] Moore, who is 50, looks like a comic-book character. He has a long beard, shoulder-length hair and likes to dress in black. He also dabbles a little in the occult.

Yeah, you could say that. Kinda like how Arnold Schwarzenegger dabbles in politics.

Comments

I couldn't get over how Daniel Clowes "fit" the standard graphic novelist's profile.
