The Writing's Still the Hard Part, Though

Karin Gillespie is using her blog to offer an insider's perspective on promoting your own novels, based on the experiences surrounding the publication of her first book, Bet Your Bottom Dollar last year:

"To promote my first novel I did fifty-nine appearances between July and December, which included bookstores, festivals, clubs, civic groups, and writing workshops. Almost all of these appearances, except for my seven-city Simon and Schuster book tour were arranged by me...This year, I’m pulling out all the stops. Those fifty-nine appearances are chicken feed compared to what I have in mind for 2005 for A Dollar Short."
