"Finding a Book I Forgot He Owned at the Used Bookstore Years After His Death," Katrina Vandenburg

by Ron Hogan
But I have more books at home than I can read
and much of what I've read I can't remember.
Everyone I know shares this predicament.

It is hard to get people to care about stories
of the dead. They yellow, pile in dusty stacks.

From Atlas.

Katrina Vandenburg will read next weekend, April 7-9, at the University of Mississippi's Oxford Conference for the Book. Atlas, her first collection, is on the poetry shortlist for the Minnesota Book Awards.
