Go Ahead, Skip Out on Work Early

by Ron Hogan

The Small Press Center is hosting New York's first annual Round Table Writer's Conference Friday and Saturday. You'll get to see industry insiders speaking about everything from how book reviews get doled out to what it is editors actually do to--and this is what'll probably get me out there--a top-to-bottom case study of the publication of Dave King's The Ha-Ha, about which I've talked your head off before. Other writers taking part in the panels include Michael Connelly, Ruben Bolling, Jeannette Walls, Rona Jaffe, and Blair Tindall, with a fancy dinner at the end at which Meg Wolitzer will be keynoting. Could be fun, probably tax-deductible...check the schedule, see if anything catches your eye.
