Read Any Good Radio Lately?

by Ron Hogan

Thanks to the beauty of streaming audio and toll-free numbers, I managed to wedge myself briefly into last night's episode of the WGBH-FM program Open Source, the topic being how the Internet destroyed magazine fiction, or something like that. Representing for the blogs were Kevin Smokler and Mark Sarvas, bringing the fight to former LA Times Book Review editor Steve Wasserman. (Host Chris Lydon pretty much lost me at the moment he declared said LATBR "fabulous," which is just plain silly.) Highlights from the transcript are up on the Open Source website, along with some commentary from listeners and other fans. You might be able to figure out how to get at the podcasts from there; have at it if you can!
