This Was an Issue? Seriously?

Maybe it's just that I'm an occasional reader of mysteries and not really a fan per se, but I had no idea there was a need for a call to include Mickey Spillane in the pantheon. Or maybe Will Cohu has to put the case to Telegraph readers because the Brits haven't gotten Mike Hammer the way we have, although that doesn't strictly seem to be the case. In any event, his analysis of Hammer, and of the alternative strain of private investigator typified by Marlowe and Archer, seems spot on.
